BIO
Pedro Victor Brandão works in photography, painting, moving images and social experimentation. He seeks to confront artistic traditions in his assessments of the present and future of capitalism.

1985, Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil. Lives and works in São Paulo, Brazil.
His research combines different fields of knowledge, such as economics, the right to the city, cybernetics, and the current manipulable nature of technical images. Pedro holds a degree in Photography from Estácio de Sá University and has attended free courses at the Parque Lage School of Visual Arts and the Capacete Summer University. He has presented the solo shows “Anti-Theft Painting” at Casa França-Brasil (Rio de Janeiro), “Prepared Canvas” at Sé (São Paulo), and “Forged and Other Forms” at Portas Vilaseca Galeria (Rio de Janeiro), among others. He has participated in group shows such as “We Live in the Best City in South America” at Fundação Iberê Camargo (Porto Alegre), “Take Me, I’m Yours” at Villa Medici (Rome), and “The River is a Serpent” at SESC (Sorocaba). As an artist in residence, he has been at the Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris), Terra UNA (Liberdade), Z/KU – Center for Art and Urbanism (Berlin), Lastro Centroamérica (Panama City), FAAP Artistic Residency (São Paulo) and Pivô Arte e Pesquisa (São Paulo). His works are represented by Portas Vilaseca Galeria (Rio de Janeiro), Sé (São Paulo); and also by the platforms AsyncArt, Ephimera and KnownOrigin.
