Gabriel Francisco Lemos is a composer, artist and researcher. He has performed and had his compositions premiered at festivals, events and exhibitions in Brazil, London, Chile, Monaco and Portugal.

Lemos works at the intersection of performing arts and multimedia composition in different contexts. His work addresses the relationship between sound and technological mediation in dialogue with information theory, complex systems and micropolitical practices. Between 2009 and 2012, he was part of the Coletivo Repartição Pública, participating in group exhibitions and a solo exhibition resulting from the acquisition award of the Salão de Arte Contemporânea da Pinacoteca de Piracicaba. Since 2012, he has been actively participating in the circuit of experimental music, free improvisation and Brazilian sound art. Between 2013 and 2016, he collaborated with the Grupo de Percussão da Universidade de São Paulo (PIAP), composing percussion pieces for various groups and organizing public concerts. Since 2016, Gabriel has also collaborated with the artist André Damião and Rita Wu in the realization of the Bloco Ruído project, an independent carnival block that parades annually, every Ash Wednesday, in the São Paulo carnival. In 2019, he joined the GAIA team – Art and Artificial Intelligence Group in partnership with the Center for Artificial Intelligence (C4AI/INOVA-USP), where he coordinates the reading group and participates in several collective projects. Lemos is currently a PhD student at the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP), where he researches the implementation of neural networks in sound synthesis applied to creative processes in multimedia composition.
