Canan Batur is a Turkish curator, researcher and writer based between London and Istanbul.

Canan Batur is a curator and researcher. From 2021 to 2024, she served as the Curator of Live Programmes at Nottingham Contemporary, where she co-curated the community-oriented live exhibition REꓘONCILIATION (2024) by Julian Abraham Togar and led the research strand Emergency & Emergence, which focused on (in)audibility, sonic knowledge, and ecological practices. Through this initiative, she curated a series of transdisciplinary gatherings, including Feedback Loop (2024), All the Birds Sing Bass (2023), Caves, Dwellings & Vibrations (2022), and After Growth: A Symposium on Post-Capitalist Imaginaries (2022). Additionally, she organised listening sessions such as Of Dubbing (2023) and Seeing Through Flames (2022) and commissioned new performances and moving image works, among other projects. Canan has also developed independent curatorial projects for the Július Koller Society in Bratislava, NTU CCA Singapore, the 12th Shanghai Biennale, and the 13th Baltic Triennale. She served on the jury for the Frieze Artist Award 2024 and the NAE OPEN Live Prize 2023.
Canan was the initiator and a founding member of the Museum for the Displaced (2018–2021) and clearview.ltd (2016–2019).
