Lives and works in
Salvador, BA
Rebeca Carapiá, visual artist and master student at the Universidade Federal da Bahia, was born in Cidade Baixa, in Salvador. She is interested in the relationships produced between language, conflict, the body and the territory, where she creates and organizes a set of practices and reflections through different platforms of artistic exhibition, formation and experimentation. Through sculptures, copper on canvas, drawings, installations, engravings, texts and objects, her research seeks to create a cosmology around the conflicts of body and language norms, in addition to expanding a geopolitical debate that involves memory, environmental racism, economies of precariousness, ancestral technologies, sexual and gender dissent and the relations of power between discourse and word.
