In his artistic practice, RG usually brings two sources for the construction of his works: one documentary and the other affective, generally through the use of documents mined in institutional or personal files associated with narratives that may involve his person or an alter ego. The interaction between these territorialities results in works that almost always come close to a fiction, or to a tense notion of fictionality.
Affective and sexual relationships and their political implications, ways of representing love in literature and the arts and issues of racial identity have been his current areas of interest. These surveys are usually unfolded in workshops, installations, performance texts, publications and objects.
Master in Arts and Literature at UFMG (MG) and graduated in Visual Arts at Belas Artes in São Paulo (Scholarship PROUNI - 2010). He participated in exhibitions and festivals in cities in Brazil and in other countries, such as Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Germany, Poland, Spain and Holland. Among other awards, he received the 1st Foco ArtRio Award, the Honor to Merit Art and Heritage / IPHAN Award, the São Paulo Cultural Center Acquisition Award, Iberê Camargo Scholarship for residency at the Künstlerhaus Bremen (Germany), Pampulha Scholarship for residency in the Museum de Arte da Pampulha (MG) and in 2018 awarded the Gasworks Artistic Residence in London.
