Luana Vitra is a visual artist, dancer and performer. She grew up in Contagem, an industrial city that made her body experience iron and soot. Gestated between carpentry (father) and the word (mother), she moves as she prays in search of healing for the landscapes in which she inhabits. She understands her own body as a trap, and her actions as micropolitics in dealing with the spatiality that her work evokes confronts and confuses.

Recent solo shows include:  “Três Guerras no Peito”, São Paulo Cultural Center – CCSP, São Paulo, SP (2020), “Torn body in a state of open sky”, Periscope Contemporary Art Gallery, Belo Horizonte, MG (2019), “Load the poem on the back”, Sesiminas Cultural Center art gallery, Belo Horizonte, MG (2019).
